Well, long time no post. Well, I'm really only here for one reason. I figure this will be the page where I put all my quiz results and I'll bloggy on LJ. That said, here's a quizzy. (Many thanks to Eric for this one)

Chinese Element of Water
You are the chinese element of Water. People who
are under the element of Water are creative,
independent and intelligent. Water you are a
dreamer, but are quite vulnerable, and have
hidden agendas. The color of water is black,
and your symbol is the tortoise. Winter is the
season in which Water shines and it's months
are October/November. Your weather condition
is cold. Water is the direction of north, and
your day is Wednesday, while your planet is
Mercury. Animals under your element are
usually shelled. People under you are Turks.
Your sense is hearing, your taste is salty,
your sound is moaning and your virtue is
knowledge. Your organs are the kidneys. You
were created by Metal and control Fire.

My grandmother died this morning.

I know she's happy now. She's with Grandpa and her siblings and mother. And she's with Jesus. And I know I'll see her again someday when I go to be with Jesus.

And I just keep telling myself that. Grandma is happy. And I know that I'm grieving, but I'm also happy for her. It's hard to explain. Everyone thinks of Death as this big endgame, but when you know where someone went when they died it's a lot easier to handle.

But, Grandma? I'm sorry I didn't come to visit you more often. I wish I had. I'm sorry that the girl that was in my english class who was one of your nurses saw you more than I did.

Jesus, if you're reading this, would you give Grandma a hug for me and tell her I love her, and that I'm sorry?

Well, KiriCon has officially started and things are not exactly going as planned.

Firstly, Amber wasn't able to come up until this morning, so we weren't officially able to start the con till this morning, though Dag and I had much fun last night talking and watching The Crow on the PS2 she brought up.

Second: I wasn't let off work early tonight like I thought I would be, so I ended up being away from them for a full shift; something I felt incredibly guilty about even though I know Amber and Dag enjoyed themselves and managed to keep themselves out of trouble (filling my kitchen with smoke notwithstanding).

Lastly: My home is currently emotionally charged because of my grandmother's declining health. We're not sure how much longer she has, and so things are kind of tense and incredibly emotional.

It's a good thing I hadn't planned very much in the way of specific activities for the con.

I have been awake for 36 straight hours. I am tired, dirty, achy, and I have a headache.

And I still can't go to sleep. I am not yet done cleaning. Almost, but not yet. I still have laundry to do and books to put on shelves.

So, this all begs the question why did I choose to put myself through this hell that made me stay up for 36 hours, skip church, and be guiltily grateful to that my boyfriend had to cancel our date?

Two reasons. Firstly, My room desperately needed to be cleaned. It has not had a thorough cleaning for years. Random picking ups that made it look almost decent at sporadic intervals, but no really good cleaning.

Secondly, but certainly no less important, KiriCon starts tomorrow, and I would like for my friends and I to have a clean area to hang out in and watch TV and giggle like the repressed Japanese Schoolgirls we are.

So does my 36 hours plus of no sleep make sense? I certainly hope so, because if it doesn't I am insane.

Now I think I am going to go check my laundry, do some folding and maybe call Tiny and ask him if I'm insane.
